Rhinoplasty – Case 324
This lovely middle aged woman had a large nose before her rhinoplasty. This was her major concern and though she also didn’t like the bump on the bridge of her nose. Overall reduction in the size of the nose is a common request of people undergoing nose job surgery. The degree of reduction is closely dependent on a persons anatomy. This limits how much a nose can be safely reduced before unwanted issues arise like difficulty breathing, instability and structural weakness.
In this example the nose was able to be reduced significantly because of her thin skin. Thick skin does not have the ability to tighten and shrink wrap around a significantly smaller nasal framework. The degree of reduction in this example is more than usual and should not be considered a typical result.
These before and after photos show a typical result by the rhinoplasty surgeon Dr Oakley Smith from Toronto.
